Whether you're looking for a part-time job, or the start of a lifelong career, we have something for you. We are looking for compassionate people who understand the meaningful impact caregivers have on the lives of our most vulnerable community members.
Our care team is the heart and soul of everything we do. We focus diligently on finding the right people, so we focus just as diligently on making sure you never want to work anywhere else. We are a village, and we're here for you every step of the way.
How To Apply:
You can submit a resume to one of our Indeed postings.
If you don't have a resume prepared to share, don't worry. We can give you a call to discuss details and answer questions to determine if we're a good fit for you and your goals.
You can find and apply directly with us online by clicking here.
This link will ask you for some basic personal information and then will take you through a series of about 20 questions that will allow us to assess what your goals are and how we can help you meet them. This link works best on a desktop or laptop. However, it is also available on your mobile device. Be mindful that when you are using a mobile device, if you leave the application before it is complete, you will not be able to go back into the application to complete it. This seems to be more problematic with iPhone than with other devices. If this happens to you, send us a quick note at admin@happiestchapters.com to let us know. Include your name and phone number and if you prefer initial contact by call or text. We will give you follow up to complete your application process over the phone!
What to expect during the interview and/or onboarding process
Interviews can be virtual, via video chat or phone call, or can be in-person at the office or in a casual off-site location. During your interview, you'll be asked about your goals, availability and experience, what type of schedule you are seeking, and any barriers that might be giving you challenges. It is important to us that we set you up for success from the very start. We work hard to tailor schedules and work demands around your needs and those of your family.
Following your interview, you could be offered a position that same day or asked for a follow up interview or phone call.
Screenings:
We require background checks, including a national criminal background, DMV History, CAPS (Colorado Adult Protective Services) and DORA (Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies) as a part of our hiring process, so any job offer, or timing of an offer will be contingent upon the results of your background check. This may also dictate how quickly you can start if you accept an offer. Our goal is always to get you started as quickly as possible.
Vaccines:
The state of Colorado requires a 90% compliance rate for home care employee annual flu vaccinations. We will accept your current vaccination documentation from the most recent flu season, until it’s expiration at one year following the date of vaccine administration. If you need assistance in getting your flu vaccine, just let us know and we will work out a plan with you.
What we seek in a candidate
Dependability; outside of a caring heart and dedication to a client’s quality of life, the most important characteristic you can bring to the table is dependability. It takes so much trust for clients to welcome us into their homes and, especially for those struggling with memory issues, disrupting routine can lead to confusion, depression, health declines, or safety concerns. Breaking trust with a client can cause long-lasting impacts, so please give your care team as much advanced notice as possible if you must miss a shift. That will allow us the time needed to contact one of the client’s other care team members and get assistance on-site in a timely fashion.
Diversity; our care team is comprised of people from all varieties of personal, educational, and professional backgrounds, varying age, experience and skills. While each displays unique talents, perspectives, and motivations, they all share important qualities that make them the perfect fit for our unique style of in-home care services.
Compassion; our care team is sympathetic to the well-being of those we serve, and they want to help them improve quality and fulfillment in their daily lives.
Servant Heart; our care team has the spirit of selfless giving and service that allows them to care at an elevated level for the clients and families they work with. For them, this calling isn't just a job - it's who they are at the core of their being. They care for their clients and one another like family.
Integrity; always do what is right, even when no one is looking.
Onboarding and Caregiver Training
Once you've accepted a position with us, you'll complete a packet of documents which includes all the data required for your background information.
We provide an orientation and any necessary onboarding training that may include a combination of video and written and guidelines, as well as training required by your state and local regulations. Even if you are new to the industry and embarking on your brand-new adventure, we will give you the skills, tools, and information you need to take great care of your clients, and yourself.
Once you've completed your onboarding, you'll work with a care manager to establish your starting (and ongoing) schedule. The care manager will review specific client needs and all case details before pairing you with any client and you will always have an introduction and warm hand-off before being sent to a client’s home, and for more complex cases, with a higher level of acuity, shadow shifts with an established leader on the client’s care team may also be scheduled for you.
We are looking forward to reviewing your application or resume and getting to know you!
